I love so many different types of photography and sports portraiture is something that I have been trying my hand at in the recent months. I realize that this is well outside of my normal posts that showcase weddings, engagements, babies, and headshots but there is so much to explore with photography! (…and while I’m thinking of it, I will recommend David Epstein’s book “Range: Why Generalists Triumph in a Specialized World” because it illustrates this point beautifully)

Freddy is an MMA fighter and a trainer at my gym Evolv Strong. When he posted a video of him kicking the bag I knew that was the photo I wanted to take. I wanted to capture the explosiveness and strength of that kick using creative lighting and some effects. But enough of the backstory on why this isn’t a wedding related post 🙂
