Taylor and I must have talked for over an hour and a half when we met in my studio. I love getting the chance to get to know my clients before their wedding day and talking with Taylor was like talking with an old friend. Part of what kept the conversation going was that hearing Taylor and Nate’s love story was absolutely captivating and touched my heart. Everything surrounding their wedding day was infused with purpose and their love for each other and God. Taylor and Nate have a favorite spot in the Bosque near their home in Corrales that they love to visit and that is where they chose to exchange vows and bind their hearts together. They planned to meet at sunrise and enjoy the magic of the first moments of sunlight together in the meadow and near the waters of the Rio Grande. Nate and Taylor’s parents, their pre-wedding mentors, and pastor joined them as the sun peaked over the Sandia Mountains for their little wedding ceremony.
What made this day even more special for me is that it happened to be my birthday. In fact, the exact time of my birth would be when I began photographing their wedding day. It’s not every day that I get up to greet the sun (spoiler…it’s almost never) but it was the perfect reason on that brisk morning in early March <3
